Guide For Authors
1. Manuscript Content
The journal mainly publishes original research articles, review articles, and research briefs that have not been publicly disseminated or previously published. The scope covers applied fundamental research and high-tech advancements in various agricultural science disciplines. Submissions should be well-documented, supported by reliable data, concise in language, clear in argumentation, and logically sound, with innovative content in certain aspects. Review articles should focus on the latest domestic and international research findings in key areas of agricultural science, integrating the author's contributions to the field and offering unique insights that guide academic development. Graduate student submissions must be accompanied by a handwritten recommendation letter from their supervisor, attesting to the scientific rigor of the manuscript.
2. Manuscript Structure
The structure for research articles (including research briefs) should follow this order: title, author names, full institutional affiliation, city, postcode, Chinese abstract, keywords, English title (matching the Chinese), author names in English, full institutional affiliation in English, English abstract, and English keywords. The main text should include sections for introduction, materials and methods, results and analysis, discussion, conclusion, footnotes on the first page, acknowledgments at the end, and references.
3. Article Title
The title should concisely summarize the key research subject or content, ensuring clarity and precision. It should generally not exceed 20 Chinese characters. Headings within the text should be numbered hierarchically using Arabic numerals, with up to three levels of subheadings.
4. Author Information and Affiliations
Only those who participated in the research and can answer questions related to the manuscript should be listed as authors. All authors must sign the submission to avoid disputes. Names should be separated by commas. Affiliations should be provided in both Chinese and English, including the full institution name, city, and postcode. The first and corresponding authors must provide an email address and phone number. Author order should be finalized before submission and cannot be changed after acceptance. Authors must have a master's degree or higher.
5. Chinese Name Transliteration
Chinese names should follow the surname-first format in English. For the author names under the title, the surname should be in full uppercase, and the given name should have only the first letter capitalized. If the given name consists of two syllables, a hyphen should be used (e.g., CHEN Wen-fu, XU Zheng-jin). In the references, the surname should be abbreviated to its first letter, and the given name should be written as an initial, followed by a period. (e.g., ZHANG W Z, LIANG X H).
6. Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should be structured with the following sections: Objective, Method, Result, and Conclusion. The abstract must include category labels such as【目的】,【方法】,【结果】and【结论】. The English abstract should follow the same format with corresponding labels [Objective], [Method], [Result], and [Conclusion], and must be written in full sentences. Abstracts should be at least 500 characters in length.
Keywords should consist of 5–8 professional terms that are highly relevant to the study, including key subjects, main methodologies, and academic terminology reflecting the core content.
7. First Page Footnotes and Funding Acknowledgment
Manuscripts supported by national or provincial-level fund projects, key projects, 863 Program, 973 Program, key or special projects under the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Science and Technology, or the Ministry of Education, should indicate the name of the funding project and its project number in parentheses. Manuscripts without any funding support will generally not be accepted unless they hold significant academic value. The first-page footnote should also include author information: the first author's name (year of birth–), gender, title, education level (graduate), degree (Master), research interests, phone number, fax, and email. If a corresponding author is designated, please also indicate the name (year of birth–), gender, title, education level, degree, research interests, phone number, fax, and email.
8. Introduction
The introduction should provide a discussion of the following: the academic and economic significance of the study, the academic background (prior research and the most significant progress made by key authors related to this study should be provided as comprehensively as possible), the research gap and innovation points (including the study's independent innovations and areas where previous studies were lacking), and the key problems the study aims to address. Citations must be provided for prior research, including at least three foreign references unless the study pertains to an original or pioneering research area in China. Manuscripts without foreign references are generally not accepted.
9. Materials and Methods
This section should clearly specify: experiment time and location, experimental materials and their representativeness, experimental scale (sample size), design rationale, design methodology, number of repetitions, experimental instruments, chemicals and their specifications, and statistical methods. If methods from other studies are adopted, appropriate explanations and citations should be included.
10. Results and Analysis
The study's key findings should be presented based on experimental data obtained through scientifically sound design and analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. The results should be accurately described, with a clear structure and logical analysis.
11. Figures, Tables, Units, and Measurement Standards
Only essential result presentation figures or tables should be included in the text, avoiding redundancy between figures and tables. Explanatory text should concisely describe the results shown in the figures or tables. Captions, annotations, and descriptions in figures and tables must be provided in both Chinese and English. Tables should use the three-line format. Line drawings should be computer-generated and must be provided with a clear laser-printed copy and a digital file. The computer-generated drawings should be editable and accessible in Word files. Excel-generated charts should include the original data. The text in the figures should be uniformly in 6-point font. Chinese characters should be in Song Ti, while English letters and numbers should be in Times New Roman. The width of half-column figures should not exceed 7.5 cm, and the width of full-column figures should not exceed 15.0 cm. Photographic images, such as real object photos and electrophoresis band images, should be provided as clear printed photographs.
All quantities and measurement units should follow international standards and legal units of measurement in China.
12. Discussion and Conclusion
(1) The Discussion section should be presented as a separate section and should not be mixed with results or conclusions. It should primarily focus on comparing the findings of this study with previous research, highlighting similarities, differences, or contradictions. The discussion should explain what has been verified, confirmed, or refuted, and provide a clear interpretation of the underlying principles or mechanisms. Any unclear reasons or inconsistencies should be further analyzed and explained. For pioneering research, the discussion should address the successes and failures of the experiment, key insights and reflections, and existing issues and mistakes. This will help peers and readers recognize the study's value and provide inspiration or new perspectives for future research.
(2) The Conclusion section should be presented as a separate section and should not be mixed with the discussion. It should be concise and to the point, clearly summarizing the fundamental conclusions of the study. The key findings revealed in this research should be comprehensively presented to provide a clear reference for future studies.
13. References
References should include relevant domestic and international literature, particularly from the past five years. Research articles should cite at least 15 references, while review articles should cite at least 50 references. Unpublished data should generally not be cited.
The reference format follows a numerical order based on their appearance in the text. In accordance with international conventions, all authors should be fully listed.
